Despite other advertisers making leaps into the top spots, QSRs were still the most present advertiser on TV in Canada, according to AdEase data for March 27 to April 3.

Lottery ads were still big in Toronto, as the Interprovincial Lottery Corporation took over the top spot from OLG. In Calgary, The Brick moved into the top from number four, swapping spots with sister company Leon’s. In Vancouver, there was some stability with the Government of British Columbia maintaining its top spot with various ads for its professional training programs.

McDonald’s was the top buyer in Montreal and Wendy’s was number one on specialty, helping QSRs remain the most active advertiser category across markets and specialty. This was helped with Wendy’s increasing its presence behind a new campaign across the country, as well as top ten buys from McDonald’s, A&W, Tim Hortons and Subway in various cities.
