Cogeco Media has hired Émilie Carbone as its general manager of local sales for Montreal and Toronto.
In the new position, Carbone has been tasked with leading Cogeco’s sales teams in the cities and working closely with clients on solutions geared towards their business goals. Carbone is coming off of more than seven years at Bell Media, most recently as senior director of national multiplatform sales.
Cogeco Media is the telco’s media arm, with 21 radio stations that draw five million terrestrial listeners per week. Montreal is the company’s largest market, where it operates five of the city’s top-performing stations in their respective categories and genres.
Part of Carbone’s remit is guiding the company’s sales teams “in the ongoing shift to grow…multi-platform revenues.” Cogeco’s digital platforms attract 1.7 million visitors and 1.2 million live streaming listeners monthly. Last year, it signed a deal with MiQ to open up programmatic advertising on its platforms.
According to Cogeco’s most recent financial results, media revenues grew 5.3% year-over-year in Q2, which followed 2.5% growth in Q1.
Carbone is the latest addition to Cogeco Media’s sales team: earlier this year, it hired Annick Bertrand as director of national sales and Alicia Boulet as director of digital sales.
