McDonald’s re-takes the top: AdEase TV

Dairy Queen and Trivago, meanwhile, put big boosts behind their buys.

McDonald’s is once again the most active TV advertiser in Canada, according to media monitoring data from AdEase for Aug. 7 to 13.

The QSR put the biggest buy behind its summer drink offers, though it also ran ads for the Big Mac. Dairy Queen moved into second as it continued to promote its “Miracle Treat Day” CSR campaign. Trivago jumped up to third as it became the top advertiser on specialty networks, but it also increased its buy in several regional markets.

Last week’s top TV advertiser, Tim Hortons, moved down to eighth.

Categorically, QSRs were once again the most active group of TV advertisers, with nearly double the spots as TV and streaming services.
