Spotted! TD Insurance is making parking… softer?

The OOH campaign merges functionality with creativity, while attempting to build brand affinity.

TD Insurance is making some of the GTA’s busiest underground parking lots a little safer for bumpers and paint jobs. With creative by Diamond and a media buy handled by Unison, the insurance brand has covered pillars in parking garages with cushions, in TD’s iconic shade of green, to protect customers’ cars.

The custom-branded TD Insurance Pole Pillows are now installed at some of the highest-traffic parking lot locations across the city, including the CF Toronto Eaton Centre, CF Sherway Gardens, CF Markville and CF Shops at Don Mills.

The helpful safety measure is partly in response to research TD commissioned from Angus Reid about the frequency of parking lot mishaps. Apparently, 59% of Ontario residents have experienced parking lot hits, while 43% admit to being hit by another car in a parking lot. Unfortunately, the pole cushions won’t help with that.

This stunt follows TD Insurance celebrating its 75th anniversary last December.
