Rogers Broadcasting puckers up

The mediaco is launching the new KISS 92.5 FM with plans to engage listeners on more platforms and ad media.

Rogers Broadcasting is puckering up to new platforms on air and online with KISS 92.5 FM. Pegged as Toronto’s only ‘all-hits’ radio station with Top 40 artists like Beyonce, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake and Rihanna, the station launched its broadcast over the weekend, with a promise to play 10,000 songs in a row with no commercial interruption.

The new programming and moniker replace rock-oriented 92.5 Jack FM, as announced on the now-defunct station website.

Also available online at Kiss925.ca, the new station plans to reach out to listeners via text messaging, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace and other social media sites, according to a recent release.

In the release, CEO radio Paul Ski says launching the station across several platforms will ‘expand dramatically what [the station] can offer its advertisers’ and EVP Toronto radio Sandy Sanderson adds that the move was based on research findings by the co that indicated ‘there was a huge unfulfilled demand for a station that would play all hits.’

On-air talent will be announced in coming weeks, along with the goods on concerts and events.
