This month, reggae-rock-hip hop lyricist K’Naan, whose latest album Troubadour debuted at #1 in digital albums in the country earlier this year, is inviting his fans to collaborate with him on a new version of his song ‘People Like Me’ – assembled from their tweets.

Twitter followers can download the special instrumental version of the song, created for the promo, and submit their own lyrics for the story via his Twitter.

Until May 1, Tweets tagged with #knaansong are considered for inclusion in the final song, which the Somali-Canadian artist will assemble from the best submissions and record.

K’Naan is also crediting all final contributors on his official site and other social profiles.

The final track will be available to fans via free download on K’Naan’s Twitter page and off his site in coming weeks.
