FX Canada cherrypicks 11 new series from FX Networks slate

As FX Networks ramps up its series and pilot-production slate, Rogers Media has picked up new shows including It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Strain.

After FX Networks ramped up its series and pilot-production slate and adds new networks, Rogers Media has picked up 11 new series from its American supplier for FX Canada.

These include a 10-episode adaptation of Joel and Ethan Coen’s 1996 feature Fargo, the FX comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and two drama pilots: Howard Gordon’s Tyrant and Guillermo del Toro’s The Strain (based on the vampire trilogy by del Toro and author Chuck Hogan, who will co-write the pilot).

With the new network FXX to launch stateside in September and join the flagship FX and FXM offerings, Rogers Media has also cherry-picked from around 25 new original scripted series from the FX Networks slate.

These include the terrorism drama The Bridge, starring Demian Bichir and Diane Kruger, the Billy Crystal-starring comedy The Comedians, the animated comedy Chozen and Charlie Kaufman’s How and Why.

The upcoming FX Canada slate also includes returning shows like Wilfred, American Horror Story, Sons of Anarchy, The League and the second season of The Americans.
