Rogers Media on Tuesday cut another 94 positions from its TV, radio and publishing divisions.
The 94 employees, who left the company Tuesday, represent around 2% of the Rogers Media workforce, which stands at around 5,400 people.
“We are evolving our business model to adapt to the changing media industry, with a strong focus and investment on our priority brands and strategic growth initiatives,” said Keith Pelley, president of Rogers Media, in a statement.
“Today’s changes are never easy, but are necessary to position us for continued success,” he added.
The job cuts come ahead of former Vodafone UK president Guy Laurence getting set to take control of parent Rogers Communications by replacing Nadir Mohamed as CEO in December, and follows Boston Consulting Group brought in to recommend efficiencies in the media division.
Rogers Media in May 2013 cut another 62 jobs as it shuttered its 24-hour breaking news station CityNews Channel in Toronto.
