Corus Entertainment’s Telelatino Network is bringing the giant Hispanic network Univision to Canada.
Corus is set to rebrand TLN en Español as part of a licensing agreement with Univision Communications to launch Univision Canada.
The licensing deal builds on a decade-long relationship between Univision and Telelatino, which already airs a slew of Univision shows, including the Latin Grammy Awards, the FIFA World Cup and series like Sábado Gigante, Primer Impacto and El Gordo y La Flaca.
“The Spanish speaking community in Canada is an important and growing multicultural group,” Telelatino Network president Aldo Di Felice said Tuesday in a statement.
Telelatino’s cable specialty channel TLNE has a subscription base of 1.7 million homes in Canada.
