Arklay to handle CTV brand development

John Arklay's broadcasting career began in 1991 with CTV. He led the creative services team there to 30 Broadcast Design Association Awards over the last three years. Now he's handling brand development for all of the company's 21 television stations and 15 specialty channels.

Jon Arklay has been appointed CTV’s VP, creative services and brand, a new position created to oversee brand development of the company’s 21 television stations and 15 specialty channels. Arklay will also be responsible for brand management elements for all Olympic marks leading into and during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games and 2012 Summer Games in London.

For the past six years, Arklay served as CTV’s director of creative services, leading the creation and evolution of the visual brand identity of such flagship properties as the CTV national and local news, eTalk, TSN’s SportsCentre, NHL on TSN, CFL on TSN, and Discovery Channel’s Daily Planet. Additionally, Arklay was directly involved in the creative design surrounding the launch of MTV in Canada and the recent re-branding of the digital network CTV Travel to travel+escape.
