Big Bang Theory back on top

The sitcom reclaimed the spot it held for three of the previous four weeks. Amazing Race 17 and The Mentalist rounded out the top three.

Here are the top-ranked shows in Canada (for all persons 2+; all times ET), according to BBM, for Oct. 18 to 24, 2010:

Monday: Dancing with the Stars on CTV at 8 p.m. took the night’s top spot with 2.337 million viewers, up from the previous week’s 2.095 million. House was second most-watched of the night with 2.150 million viewers.

Tuesday: NCIS on Global at 8 p.m. beat out NCIS: Los Angeles, also on Global at 9 p.m., for top spot on the night. The former had 2.345 million viewers to the latter’s 1.931 million.

Wednesday: Criminal Minds on CTV at 9 p.m. held on to the #1 spot for the fifth straight week, with 2.437 million viewers. Survivor: Nicaragua was second place again, this time with 2.173 million, down slightly from the week before.

Thursday: The Big Bang Theory on CTV at 8 p.m. returned to its proper place in the universe as the night’s and the week’s top program. It had been bumped the previous week by Amazing Race 17, but, with 3.028 million viewers, is back on top.

Friday: Blue Bloods on CTV at 10 p.m. retained its top rank for Friday night with 1.769 million viewers. CSI: New York was second with 1.666 million.

Saturday: After dropping off the list last week, Hockey Night in Canada returned to win Saturday night with 1.4 million viewers for the night’s first game. Second on the night was CTV National News, with 1.216 million viewers.

Sunday: Amazing Race 17 on CTV at 8 p.m. lost its spot as most-watched show of the week but did stay on top for the night. It had 2.723 million viewers. Desperate Housewives was second on the night with 1.511 million.
