CTV has grown its viewership base in a much sought-after target market: millennials and young adults.
According to CTV’s annual ratings “report card,” younger viewers tuned in to the network’s new shows over the 2014/2015 season season, notably in primetime linear. The net’s audience grew more than 10% among the 18-to-34 age group, and 7% among the 25-to-54 age group.
The top five shows for millennials are The Flash, Gotham, How to Get Away with Murder, Marvel’s Agent Carter, and CSI: Cyber.
New series did particularly well this season. Six of the nine shows that made it to the top 20 list of programs with the most total viewership were new series for CTV’s 2014-2015 season.
All six of the most-viewed new series for the season aired on CTV. The Flash was the most-watched show in all three age categories: millennials, 18 to 49, and 25 to 54. More than a million viewers in the 25-to-54 demo watched the show on the network.
The Big Bang Theory continued to hold its own as the top show for the year, averaging 3.5 million viewers an episode for the season.
Nabbing the number two and number three slots were NCIS and NCIS: New Orleans on Global. The Shaw Media net also took the number six and number 15 slots with Survivor: San Juan and Hawaii Five-0, respectively.
