CBC has greenlit a new daytime lifestyle show that will air in the same time slot as Steven and Chris, which was ended after co-host Chris Hyndman’s death last year.
The new series is set to launch in fall 2016, and will air Monday through Friday at 2 p.m., a CBC spokesperson told Playback Daily. The yet-to-be-named series will be taped at the CBC building in Toronto, and will be produced in-house.
More details about the series will be announced at CBC’s upfront presentation in May, but the show will have a focus on home, food, style and wellness content and have multiple hosts. The CBC’s Media Solutions team will soon start pitching sponsorship opportunities for the show.
Casting for the series’ hosts started this week. The producers have approached Steven Sabados to be a part of the upcoming series, a spokesperson confirmed, and he is currently “taking some time to consider the opportunity.”
