MEC North America has announced that Lee Doyle is stepping down as CEO. The GroupM company’s global CEO Charles Courtier will take over responsibilities in North America until a new CEO is in place, according to a release.
Doyle has been with MEC for 12 years and will stay on with GroupM and WPP in a position that will be announced in the coming weeks.
“As we look ahead and decide what we need to do in the future, I think it is time for new leadership,” Doyle tells MiC. “I think the company has evolved a lot, I am proud of where I have gotten us to so far, but as we continue to up our game a new leader and vision for MEC would be good for everyone.”
“Lee has been hugely influential at MEC as CEO for the last four years, and since he joined the company in 1999,” said Courtier in a release. “Under his tenure the agency has grown by 40%, a stunning achievement. But it’s not goodbye – Lee is committed to the Group and vice versa – we will see him in a new role soon.”
