MEC has announced that Pele Cortiza-Burgess will join the agency as its global director of integrated planning, starting Monday Sept. 10. This is a newly created role, with Cortiza-Burgess based in MEC’s New York office.
Cortiza-Burgess will report to global chief strategy officer Mel Varley as well as CEO Marla Kaplowitz. His r0le will be to drive the agency’s internal and external integrated planning offer, according to a statement from MEC.
“In today’s changing communications world, it is imperative that we deliver step change in strategic leadership for our clients,” said Kaplowitz in the release. “Pele will be charged to work with our global client leaders to drive thought leadership, creativity and strategic development for our clients and we look forward to exciting developments together.”
The new global director comes from Grey North America where he acted as chief strategy officer and was responsible for clients such as P&G, Diageo, Pfizer and Canon.
