Adap.tv expands Canadian presence

Dana Toering, head of sales and business development for AOL Canada, tells MiC about Adap.tv Canada's first hire and plans for the programmatic video advertising platform in 2014.

AOL Canada is continuing to focus on the video side of its business, building out the team for programmatic video advertising platform Adap.tv, which it purchased earlier this year.

The company has hired Mike Evans as account director for Adap.tv Canada, marking the first addition for the business in Canada. Dana Toering, head of sales and business development for AOL Canada, tells MiC that Evans will be responsible for overseeing the overall budget for Adap.tv in Canada, leading the enterprise sales as well as working as a sales specialist to support agencies that sell into channels specific to programmatic video. Prior to joining AOL Canada, Evans was at Shaw Media and has also previously held roles at Bell Media, Pound Magazine and SBC Media.

Toering says AOL Canada plans to expand the team for Adap.tv, which operates on both the buying and selling side of programmatic buying, once plans have been finalized for 2014.

“The go-to market strategy is to get as far ahead as we can in terms of client and agency education as soon as possible and to really hit the ground running in 2014,” he says.
