Statistics Canada has released the latest summary numbers for the revenues, expenses and profits of Canadian media agencies, which are up across the board.
The latest operating revenues for 2012 came in at $458.6 million versus $430.7 in 2011. Quebec saw the largest measured jump in operating revenue from 2011 to 2012, rising from $86.8 million to $107.2 million. Ontario saw a gain of $4.1 million in operating revenue from 2011 to 2012, rising from $289.6 million to $293.7 million. Alberta rose from $9.5 million in 2011 to $10.4 million in 2012 and British Columbia jumped from $35.6 million in 2011 to $37.7 million in 2012.
Operating expenses were also up across the measured provinces, overall moving from $357.4 million in 2011 to $379.4 million in 2012. Salaries, wages and benefits at media agencies rose from $180.7 million in 2011 to $192.6 in 2012.
