New Maxus CEO leans into digital with hire

Steve Williams has brought Jonathan Adams (pictured) onto the team as chief digital officer, his first major appointment since joining the GroupM agency in June.

Steve Williams, North American CEO at Maxus, has made his first major hire since joining the company in the role in June, adding Jonathan Adams as chief digital officer for North America.

The move signifies Williams’ commitment to digital innovation and his philosophy around “leaning into change,” according to a release on Adams joining the team.

Adams will be responsible for digital performance and maximizing its potential at the agency, while also mentoring and designing frameworks with the teams across Maxus to optimize communication across all platforms. He will be based in New York and report to Williams.

The move marks a return to GroupM and WPP for Adams who has previously held roles at OgilvyOne, Lowe & Partners and The Media Edge (now MEC). His most recent role prior to Maxus was as SVP of media at New York-based iCrossing.
