MediaCom Montreal adds to account team
Louis-Philippe Charland has been hired as an account director at MediaCom Canada’s Montreal office. Charland most recently worked at Carat, where he was responsible for accounts including GM Canada and Diageo.
Digital AdLab and AdParlour launch social media course
The Digital AdLab in partnership with AdParlour has launched a Social Media Advertising Accelerator Program. The full-day intensive bootcamp program uses AdParlour’s technology platform to give advertising professionals and marketers formal education and practical hands-on training in social media advertising.
TOMS founder to be honoured in Cannes
The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity has announced that Blake Mycoskie, founder at TOMS, will be honoured with the Cannes LionHeart Award this June. The award was introduced in 2014 to honour an individual who has harnessed commercial brand power to make a positive difference to people or to the planet at large.
JWT wins Splenda
The Toronto office of J. Walter Thompson Canada has been awarded the North American creative account for Splenda. JWT will begin work on its first project for the sweetener brand – a new product launch – on June 1.
19-2 renewed on Bravo
A fourth season of Bravo’s Montreal-based cop drama 19-2 has been given the green light, weeks ahead of the show’s season-three premiere, which airs on Monday June 20 at 10 p.m.
Afroglobal Television launched on Rogers Cable
Afroglobal Television, a 24-hour channel focused on Africa and the Diaspora has launched on Rogers Cable. Based in Toronto, the channel targets people of African descent, presenting content that includes documentaries, music, movies, talk shows, drama, sports and current affairs programming.
