Royal Bank of Canada has retained its position as the top spender in the Toronto radio market, albeit with a slightly lower play count.
That’s according to the weekly Media Monitors charts, which covers the week of Oct. 1 to 7.
RBC got the #1 spot in the Toronto market, with 1,370 spots purchased (down from 1,554 spots last week). It was followed by Sunwing with 866 spots, (up from #7), TD Insurance (new to the charts), TD Bank (up from #5) and TD Canada Trust (up from #8).
Also new to the chart was Pizza Pizza, which arrived on the chart at #6.
RBC and TD’s buys continued to make the banks, credit unions, mortgage brokers and financial services category the top buying category on the radio last week, with more than 4,400 collective spots purchased. This was followed by QSRs.
In the Montreal market, RBC jumped to #1 from #2 last week with 426 spots purchased. This sent the previous top buyer, CTV, down to #2 (with a buy of 394, down from 492).
The new entrant at #3 was Allstate, with a play count of 202.
This was followed by TD Bank at #4 (up from #5) and new entrant Pizza Pizza.
For categories, banks, credit unions, finance services had the biggest presence in both Montreal and Toronto.
