BMO keeps a hold on Toronto, Montreal: Media Monitors

Local, Asian auto industry continues to drives top buys in both markets

It was another big buying week for the Bank of Montreal who remained the top buyer in the Toronto radio market.

Media Monitors reported the financial institution made 1,249 ad buys for the April 15 to 21 week, slightly less than the 1,487 last week.

Hudson’s Bay made a big move into the #2 spot with 761 buys, up from #15 last week. And making an appearance in the #3 spot was the Lexus Dealer Association with 752 buys.

Those spots helped drive car and truck dealer associations into the #1 spot overall with 3,006 buys. Financial institutions slid to #2 and cars, trucks and local dealers fell to #3 while live theatre, music and dance and home improvement products and services rounded out the top-five.

BMO also remained at the top of the Montreal market with 376 play counts followed by CTV with 323 counts and Hudson’s Bay with 296.

The Asian factory auto category remained #1 overall with 1,021 spots. Nearly doubling the amount of buys from last week, cars, trucks and local dealers took the #2 spot with 915 buys, up from 567 last week. Restaurants and nightclubs remained at #3 with 823 buys.
