Sunwing knocked Sleep Country Canada from the top spot in Toronto according to the Media Monitors charts for the week ending Jan. 12.
The Canadian tour operator purchased 998 ad units, knocking the mattress retailer to #2 with 965 ads purchased. The Toronto International Boat Show took third with 787. Rounding out the top-five were Via Rail Canada and 1-800-GOT-JUNK?
Banks, credit unions and other financial services was the top-buying category with 2,093 spots narrowly edging past QSRs with 2,092. Amusements and events took third with 1,663 spots as travel services and public service and organizational advertising rounded out the top-five.
Dormez-vous rose nearly 20 places to take the top spot in Montreal with 328 units. CTV remained in second with 312 followed by Sunwing, up to third from #55 the week previous with 301 units. McDonald’s and Accent Insurance Solutions took #4 and #5 respectively.
With 583 spots, the top-buying category in Montreal was television and cable TV followed by travel services with 460, up from 237 spots the week previous. Restaurants and nightclubs took third with 433 spots while wireless and internet service rounded out the top-five with bedding retailers and manufacturers.
