The Globe Alliance Network now has high-profile American sports media brand ESPN in its stable, adding ESPN.com and the cricket-focused ESPNcricinfo.com, to its digital network.
Globe Alliance says the addition of ESPN expands its total reach to over 20.6 million Canadians monthly. The sports sites competes against similarly high-profile sports brands in Canada, such as Bell Media’s TSN and Rogers’ Sportsnet.
According to Comscore, ESPN attracts 3.4 million monthly unique visitors in Canada who spend an average of 32 minutes on the digital properties.
ESPN draws a high-income audience — 42% make $100,000 or more annually, according to company data, with 22% having more than $250,000 investable assets. Nearly half (48%) of the audience is comprised of managers, owners, professionals and executives (MOPEs).
The Globe Alliance Network, part of The Globe Media Group, represents several international business and lifestyle digital titles including The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Fast Company, Elle, Esquire and The Guardian.
