As case counts continue to rise in Ontario and pushes to combat confusion around vaccine supply in the province are increasingly required, the provincial government took back its top spot in Toronto’s radio market this week, according to the latest numbers from Media Monitors.
At the account level for the week of Apr. 12 to 18, the Ontario government jumped from third to first in Toronto, supplanting meal kit brand Goodfood, who moved to second, followed by the Ford Dealer Association, which jumped into third from outside the radio rankings.
Categorically, automotive dealers made the strongest push in Toronto, increasing their spots by over 300% from the week prior, followed by unions who jumped from 1,816 to 2,847. Play counts for Asian car manufacturers also increased significantly, going up over 80% (2,148 from 1,162) from the week before.
In Montreal, Asian automakers drove to the top of the category rankings, with domestic manufacturers also increasing their spot count alongside dealer associations and local dealers.
Account level rankings stayed consistent in Montreal this week, with the Government of Quebec maintaining its top spot, followed by Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GMC Parts and Services and Nissan, with Hyundai and Mazda jumping up into fourth and fifth respectively from outside of the radio rankings.
