Automotive categories were strong in both Toronto and Montreal radio markets, according to the latest data from Media Monitors for the week of May 24 to May 30.
Asian automakers upped their radio spots by over 200% in Toronto, with a smaller boost recorded in Montreal.
The acceleration in Toronto translated into Hyundai moving into second place on the list of advertisers, behind Goodfood, which maintained its top spot. The Honda Dealer Association ended the week in third.
QSRs invested more in the Toronto market last week as well, increasing the category’s spots by over 80%.
Categorically, the Montreal radio rankings stayed relatively flat week-over-week. On the account side, Rogers jumped into second from outside the rankings, but still well behind the long-standing leader, the Quebec provincial government.
Nissan and the Toyota Dealer Association took third and fourth respectively, followed by Hyundai in fifth from outside the rankings.
