McDonald’s Canada once again bought the most radio spots in Toronto and second-most in Montreal, with Subway increasing its play count in both cities, according to Media Monitors data for the week of Aug. 9 to 15.
That resulted in QSRs once again being the most active radio advertisers in Toronto, though governments bought slightly more in Montreal to land in the top spot.
Goodfood was once again the second-most active brand on Toronto radio last week, followed by Telus. The Government of Canada, Shoppers Drug Mart and Bell all entered the top 10 this week. Categorically, government ads came in second behind QSRs, followed by public service and telco ads.
In Montreal, the Government of Quebec was once again the most active radio advertiser, though dealer associations for Hyundai and Toyota returned to big buys to re-enter the top 10 at number three and five, respectively. By category, public service ads took the third spot, followed by automakers.
