HSBC made a big jump to the top of the radio rankings in Toronto, according to Media Monitors data for the week of Aug. 30 to Sept. 5.
The rest of the top ten list of most active radio buyers in Toronto looked very similar to the previous week, although frequent top buyer Goodfood re-entered the rankings at number two, with the OLG’s most recent campaign for its new Proline offering and Elections Canada PSAs about voter information also entering the list.
Because of the aforementioned radio buy from HSBC, banks were the most active category on the Toronto airwaves, with BMO and Scotiabank also making big purchases. The banks were followed by wireless carriers, with Chatr and Fido maintaining their buys from the previous week.
In Montreal, the Government of Quebec, once again, bought the most radio ads, though it was followed by McDonald’s, which re-entered the top ten list. The remainder of the list featured brands that bumped up their radio spots from the previous week, including electrical and HVAC company Elecktrika, Scotiabank, the United Nations and Subway.
Categorically, government ads were the most present on Montreal radio, followed by spots for financial institutions and QSRs.
