Metrolinx continues to have a major presence on radio airwaves in Toronto, according to Media Monitors data for Sept. 20 to 26.
The transit operator’s GO Transit service – which is in the midst of a big fall campaign – increased its number of radio spots from the week prior, while Metrolinx-owned UP Express also increased its buy, landing in seventh.
Toyota and OLG also increased their radio buys from the week prior, and were the second and third most active radio advertisers.
In Montreal, there was more of the same, with the Government of Quebec and Bell Mobility, once again, taking the one and two spots, while Nissan and Belairdirect again took the fourth and sixth spots, respectively. Mazda also re-entered the top ten at third after not registering on Media Monitors’ tracking the prior week, while Electika and Consolidated Credit Counselling Services increased their buys from last week.
Subway and Shoppers Drug Mart increased their radio buys in both Toronto and Montreal last week to land in the top ten.
Automakers made a big jump to become the most active advertiser category in Toronto, followed by financial services and transit. In Montreal, government was once again the most prevalent category, followed by automakers and telcos.
