CAA buys the top in Toronto: Media Monitors

The association began a new radio push in a big way last week.

As the weather gets colder and winter driving conditions approach, the Canadian Automobile Association is more present on Toronto radio stations, according to Media Monitors data for the week of Nov. 1 to 7.

The CAA began a new radio push last week in a big way, buying over 1000 spots, far and away the city’s most active advertiser. It was followed by Ford and Capital One, which increased their play counts from the week prior. Sunwing came in fourth as it begins its own new radio push welcoming Canadians back to leisure travel.

Looking at the advertiser categories, business and consumer service ads were the most present on Toronto’s airwaves, followed by banks and public service ads.

In Montreal, the Government of Quebec and Virgin Plus continued to hold to the number one and two spots, respectively, but a new push from Mastercard put it into the third spot. Bell managed to jump up to fourth spot, while Elections Quebec had the fifth spot, buying up a group of radio spots ahead of the recent municipal elections across the province.

Categorically, that put government ads in the top spot once again, followed by ads from business services and banks.
