CIBC helps Habs fans realize their ambitions

The bank activates the sponsorship via a contest delivering unique hockey experiences.

CIBC is giving Montreal Canadiens fans a chance to make their dreams come true – whether they be financial, or part of their love for the team.

As part of the “Au coeur de nos célébrations” (“at the heart of our celebrations”) campaign, fans enter a contest by describing both their financial ambitions and those related to the Montreal Canadiens. Prizes include skating on the Bell Centre rink, meeting Montreal Canadiens’ former players, attending a game with three friends or winning a VIP evening at a Canadiens’ game.

Rosa Trunzo, SVP and regional head, Quebec region, personal and business banking at CIBC, says the contest fits with the bank’s brand purpose of “making ambitions real,” which has been a marketing focus since relaunching its brand last year.

CIBC first partnered with the Canadiens last year as part of a deal that included becoming the team’s helmet sponsor for away games. The bank is once again filling that role this season, avoiding conflict with fellow Big Five bank RBC, which now has its logo on the team’s home jerseys.

Other ways the bank has activated its sponsorship include sponsoring the CIBC Pregame Zone before home games played outside of the Bell Centre.
