Spotted! Coca-Cola paints a vibrant mural at Calgary Airport

Art depicting the Bow River is the first partnership planned to help the airport’s development.

The Calgary Airport Authority has partnered with Coca-Cola and Coke Canada Bottling to create a mural installation in the airport.

The 200 ft. long mural, created with agency LPi, depicts a series of scenes along the city’s Bow River. The installation features nine different scenes representing a variety of human experiences along the Bow River, as well as the wildlife that calls this habitat their home.It can be found between the airport’s C and D/E concourses and is, appropriately, titled “River Walk.”

This sponsorship is the first in several additional partnerships the Calgary AIrport Authority plans to “help shape the future” of Calgary International Airport. Next year, construction is planned to begin to rehabilitate the airport’s west runway, a $115 million project that is expected to take up to three years.

The Bow River has been an area of focus for Coca Cola in the past. In 2015, the company contributed $50,000 to help the Nature Conservancy of Canada fund four water conservation projects on the watershed.
