Harry Rosen suits up to sponsor CF Montreal

Players, coaches and staff will be outfitted in custom suits from the retailer's Harold line.

Harry Rosen is CF Montréal’s newest corporate partner, signing on as the MLS team’s official tailor.

Financial terms of the two-year deal were not disclosed. The partnership formally began this past Saturday when CF Montréal hosted Philadelphia Union in its home opener.

As part of the sponsorship, players, coaches and technical staff will wear suits from Harold, Harry Rosen’s private label brand of custom made and ready-to-wear menswear.

“Our partnership with CF Montréal reflects our shared values of inclusivity, community and passion, while demonstrating our commitment to building relationships within this vibrant community,” said Ian Rosen, president and COO of Harry Rosen. “Harry Rosen prides itself in exceptional quality menswear that is both functional and fashionable, and we will continue to support and promote cultural opportunities that showcase men’s interests and passions.”

Though it has had some partnerships in the past, sports sponsorship has not been a major part of Harry Rosen’s marketing strategy in recent years, though it has turned to more sponsor tactics when it comes to the Harold brand. When it launched last year, it sponsored the 2022 Juno Awards ceremony, outfitting host Simu Liu in Harold clothes and debuting a new campaign during the broadcast. Though it wasn’t an official sponsor of the team, Toronto Raptor Fred VanVleet starred in a follow-up campaign last fall, alongside celebrity chef Matty Matheson.

Last season, CF Montréal was the top-performing Canadian team in MLS, finishing second in its conference and third on the overall league table. In the playoffs, it made it to the conference semifinals, where it was eliminated by New York City FC.
