The Marilyn Denis Show to conclude after 13 seasons

Denis will continue to host her podcast and CHUM morning radio show.

After 13 seasons and more than 2,000 episodes, daytime talk show The Marilyn Denis Show will be ending its run on CTV.

The final episode will air on June 9.

Beginning on May 8, the show will be bringing in a series of special guests, audience surprises and highlight clips in the lead-up to the finale.

Denis will continue to co-host Marilyn Denis and Jamar weekday mornings on Bell’s CHUM 104.5 radio station in Toronto, as well as continue hosting iHeartRadio’s Marilyn Denis Does a Podcast.

Describing hosting a national television show as a career highlight, Denis added that she was eager to “refocus on my family and other projects” after roughly three decades of balancing daytime TV with radio.

“I want to thank the entire team at The Marilyn Denis Show, who are and always will be family, the incredible experts and guests who have joined me over the years, and most importantly – every studio audience member and the viewers at home for welcoming me into your lives,” Denis said.

Denis began her broadcasting career in radio in 1976, before reporting on sports, weather and entertainment for CTV Calgary and TSN. She took over CHUM’s morning show in 1986 and became host of Citytv’s Cityline in 1989, before making the jump to CTV in 2008 to start The Marilyn Denis Show. The show has won four Canadian Screen Awards, with Denis herself being given The Rosalie Award, honouring Canadian women who have paved the way for others in radio broadcasting.

Bell Media says a new CTV daytime programming lineup, which will include a new series, is to be announced later this year.
