Spence Diamonds kicked off the year dominating the Canadian radio airwaves, according to the latest AdEase report.
The jeweller recorded 5,796 combined occurrences for the week of Jan. 1 to 7 and took first place in almost all markets except Montreal and Quebec City. It’s also one of the week’s biggest movers – the retailer climbed 474 places in Ottawa, while it rose 338 spots in Vancouver.
In addition to Spence, other big movers were HSBC Banking Services, which climbed 185 places to fifth in Vancouver, and McDonald’s, which jumped 350 and 251 positions to finish third in Edmonton and fourth in Toronto, respectively.
The AdEase charts also showed that governments had a strong presence during the week. The Government of Prince Edward Island ranked third in Ottawa with 812 occurrences, while the Government of Ontario came in fifth in the same market.
Rogers Communications, which led the list of the top 10 most active radio advertisers from Dec. 25 to 31, didn’t appear in the ranking this time. Neither did Shoppers, which dominated the market during the second week of December.
