Paramount+ is rolling out its Basic ad tier in Canada and raising the price of its Standard plan starting in April.
The Basic subscription plan is priced at $6.99, and gives users access to Paramount+’s complete roster of content. The plan, which will also launch in Australia, allows streaming on one device at a time in full HD. The Standard plan, meanwhile, will be priced at $10.99, up $1 from the previous price of $9.99. It comes with the option of two concurrent streams in full HD.
The streamer launched its Premium tier in Canada, Australia, Brazil and Mexico last November. The Premium plan is priced at $13.99 and allows for four concurrent streams in 4K UHD, HDR10 and Dolby Vision. The plan will roll out across Europe, starting with France in March, according to a news release.
The plan includes Paramount+’s full lineup of series and films, including the final season of Star Trek: Discovery, the new season of Mayor of Kingstown (pictured), PAW Patrol: The Mighty Movie and Yellowstone, among others.
“By introducing the ‘Basic (with ads)’ plan in Canada and Australia, we will enhance our value to our partners by enabling advertisers to buy across our global franchises, series and films through our digital platform, EyeQ, alongside the breadth of Paramount’s premium video inventory in a comprehensive and impactful way,” said Lee Sears, president of international markets advertising sales, in a statement.
