Media Moves: Youtube launches creator takeover offering

Plus, Active Media Services rebrands and Coegi launches in Canada.

YouTube pilots new creator takeover offering

On average, viewers watch over one billion hours of YouTube content every day, the company told an audience at its annual YouTube Features event for Canadian advertisers, where it took the opportunity to also reveal a new ad format.

The company introduced its new YouTube Select Creator Takeover offering, which Anne Marie Nelson-Bogle, VP for YouTube ads marketing says will allow brands to have a stronger presence within top creator channels.

“If a brand realizes that [an influencer like] Mia Maples has a community that would best fit its audience, it essentially would have 100% of her channel and be the only brand [that] viewers see once they come to her channel for a select period of time,” says Nelson-Bogle.

Coegi Canada launches with Rodney Perry at the helm

This week, as part of its North American expansion, Coegi, the digital media agency owned by True Independent Holdings, is launching Coegi Canada. The company has tapped Rodney Perry to be president of the Canadian arm.

Perry brings over two decades of digital and interactive experience to his new role. Prior to joining Coegi, Perry served as chief digital officer at Chameleon Digital Media and has held leadership positions at organizations including GroupM’s mPlatform, Xaxis and MEC Interaction.

Coegi Canada will serve Coegi’s existing Canadian clients, while pursuing new opportunities. It will offer a full suite of Coegi’s services, including digital advertising strategy, programmatic advertising, CTV, influencer marketing, search marketing and advanced analytics.

“The Canadian market presents exciting opportunities for growth,” added Perry. “With Coegi’s approach to digital marketing and our understanding of the local landscape, we’re well-positioned to help Canadian brands achieve their marketing objectives and drive measurable business results.”
