The latest AdEase report shows that Forzani Group was the most active advertiser on radio during the week of Nov. 25 to Dec. 1.

With 8,101 combined occurrences, the Canadian Tire-owned retailer (renamed as FGL Sports) landed first in Calgary and Toronto, second in Vancouver, while coming in fourth in Edmonton, ninth in Ottawa, and sixth in Quebec. The advertiser scored 2,094 occurrences in the previous radio buying week.

Spence Diamonds ranked as the second most active advertiser, with 6,250 total occurrences, after dominating the airwaves last week with 6,441 instances. Shoppers Drug Mart finished third, with 6,022 occurrences, followed by Subway Restaurants, with 4,272. Both marketers decreased their spend compared to the prior week.

Among the advertisers that moved the most on the list were No Frills, which climbed 79 positions to seventh in Edmonton; and Epcor Utilities, which rose 72 positions in the same city. Air Canada also advanced significantly, jumping 411 positions to second in Toronto, and 264 to fifth in Montreal.

On the category side, some of the highest-spending groups were grocery stores and supermarkets, QSRs, and furniture stores.
