Horizon Media Holdings, the parent company of Horizon Media, has appointed Bob Lord as its first president. In this newly created role, Lord will report to Horizon CEO and founder Bill Koenigsberg.
Lord’s career has spanned more than three decades. In that time, he has worked at the intersection of marketing, media and technology. Lord was IBM’s first chief data officer and led the Weather Company prior to its divestiture. Before that, he was the global CEO of Razorfish, which was acquired by Publicis Group, as well as the president of AOL.
As IBM’s first CDO, he infused AI across IBM’s applications and revolutionized its go-to-market strategy. Under his direction, IBM also launched Call for Code, an initiative meant to address societal challenges using advanced technology. He also divested core units to align with IBM’s business strategy and orchestrated the sale of The Weather Company to a private equity partner. Earlier, as president of AOL, he led the development of an industry-leading programmatic media platform. As Global CEO of Razorfish, he oversaw the company’s acquisition by Publicis Groupe.
In the newly created position, Lord will be tasked with driving innovation for Horizon in addition to overseeing its portfolio and developing businesses across each of its offices. The executive will also handle international strategy. Other agencies under Horizon’s portfolio include sports and experiential agency HS&E, social-led content shop Blue Hour Studios, commerce agency Night Market and business-to-business practice Green Thread.
