The Good Doctor returned to the top of the tube the week of Nov. 2 to Nov. 8. Its season premiere stole the most-watched national English primetime spot from the previous leader, The Masked Singer, with 2.42 million viewers on Monday.

The Masked Singer, however, still charted strongly in the number-two slot with 2.03 million viewers, an increase over its previous week. Young Sheldon‘s premiere on Thursday found 1.74 million Canadian viewers. Saturday proved a strong night for SNL and CTV’s newscasters (perhaps buoyed by U.S. election results), earning 1.51 million and 1.43 million, respectively. (The two Saturday programs performed well in regional results as well, particularly in Montreal.)

A strong showing from Discussions avec mes parents won the week among French-language programming in Quebec with 1.91 million. It toppled last week’s leader L’Échappée (which fell to fifth with 1.01 million). Typically strong programs Toute la vie, Tout le monde en parle and En direct de l’univers rounded out the top five.

Given the U.S election news cycle over the weekend, it’s no surprise to see CTV and Global’s weekend news programming earning top-five spots in several major markets. The Conners did well with 56 million viewers in Montreal on Wednesday, but The Masked Singer and The Good Doctor led the way among scripted programming in the major markets.
