Automotive dealer associations went big on Toronto radio between Dec. 14 and Dec. 20, according to the latest Media Monitors reporting. The category saw more than 4,000 ads air last week, taking the top spot with a 33% increase in radio spending over the week prior.
The latest numbers shows OLG ran the most spots as an individual advertiser in Toronto, but Toyota and Ford dealers placed in the top five with more than 2,400 ads between them. Rogers and Pepsico took the number four and five spots.
Things looked a bit more business-as-usual in Montreal, where government/union ads led category spending ahead of wireless carriers and auto dealers. Behind the provincial government (the top buyer for the market), Bell Mobility, CTV (also owned by Bell), Rogers and HomeSense rounded out the top-five radio advertisers.
Note: Media In Canada is on winter break until Jan. 6, 2021. Weekly coverage of Media Monitors will resume at that time.
