As we hit the dog days of summer, unscripted programming, the Olympics and a hospital drama are capturing the attention of Canadians, according to the latest Numeris ratings, July 19 to July 25, 2021.
Once again America’s Got Talent topped national ratings, while CTV Evening News came in second.
In the GTA, an encore presentation of the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games in Tokyo outdrew AGT, followed by Private Eyes, Tokyo 2020 Primetime, and Tokyo 2020 Daytime.
Conventional news programming, meanwhile, saw a boost in the western provinces, with that format dominating in Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver/Victoria markets.
For Francophone viewers, TVA’s Hôpital New Amsterdam was once again in the number one spot, followed by cultural affairs program, SUCRÉ SALÉ and SRC’s cooking show, L’épicerie.
