Jury announced for 2023 Media Innovation Awards

A dozen industry experts will join the co-chairs to pick this year's big winners.

With the deadline for entries one week away, the jurors for this year’s Media Innovation Awards has been revealed.

Joining previously announced co-chairs Urania Agas, CEO of EssenceMediacom Canada, and Emma Eriksson, VP of marketing and wellbeing at Kellogg Canada, are a dozen agency- and brand-side experts who will evaluate the entries and determine this year’s winners. They will be assisted by a shortlist jury that will be announced in the future to help narrow down the field of entries.

There are also three new categories for the MIAs this year.

The Planning with Purpose category will recognize media programs that embodied a brand’s ESG principles, while also driving business goals. The Best in Regulated Products category will award work that navigated the precise rules, regulations and challenges that come with developing media plans for categories like alcoholic beverages, cannabis, pharma and health. The Best Use of Influencers category will recognize how the use of an influencer captured the attention of the target audience for a brand and drove significant outcomes.

The regular deadline for entries to the 2023 Media Innovation Awards is July 24. Winners will be announced at an awards gala in Toronto on Nov. 29. More information can be found on the Media Innovation Awards website.
