Tim Hortons is no longer the most active advertiser for the week of Nov. 13 to 19, leaving the top spot to McDonald’s, according to AdEase’s latest TV report.

The QSR ranked first in almost all markets, except Montreal, and aired over 3,000 combined ads. For its part, Tim Hortons came in the top five in all cities, with 2,250 combined airings. Nationally on speciality, Bell Media’s Crave topped the AdEase chart after climbing two positions and airing a total of 2,636 ads. It was followed by laundry brand Downy, which has maintained its TV presence in recent weeks.

As the U.S. Black Friday approaches, technology and furniture stores figured among the most active advertisers. For example, Best Buy climbed 24 positions to rank ninth in Calgary, while Staples moved up 14 positions and placed third in Montreal. In Toronto and Vancouver, Leon’s Furniture rose 355 and 329 places, respectively, becoming the top mover in the overall ranking.

Category-wise, the top three spending groups were QSRs, furniture stores and TV and streaming services. Department stores also jumped four positions to take third place in the national list.
