Shoppers Drug Mart is no longer at the top of the AdEase Radio’s ratings charts for the week of Dec. 4 to 10.
According to the company’s newest report, retailer Spence Diamonds has amped up its spend ahead of the holidays and now dominates the market with 6,965 occurrences. The jeweller was the most active advertiser in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Toronto and ranked second in Ottawa. For its part, Shoppers posted 5,497 occurrences and remained between third and sixth place in all markets.
One of the week’s biggest movers was the Government of Ontario, which rose 21 positions to rank second in Toronto, and climbed 14 spots to finish fifth in Ottawa. The Government of Canada also moved up two places to rank fifth in Montreal, and up one to hit ninth in Ottawa.
Category-wise, QSRs are no longer the highest-spending category after being replaced by the provincial and federal governments. That category was followed by dine-in restaurants and bars and grocery stores and supermarkets.
