Rogers greenlights The Bachelor Canada for season two

After becoming a solid ratings-earner for Citytv during its first season, more roses will be handed out in 2014.

Rogers is set to serve up more romance with a second season of The Bachelor Canada, Scott Moore, president, broadcast, Rogers Media confirmed Monday.

Shot in Vancouver and featuring CFL free agent Brad Smith, the first season of the Canadian version of the international dating show ended its run in November, and proved to be a solid ratings-earner for Citytv.

According to BBM Canada data, the show had an average audience of 727,700 per episode. The Bachelor Canada also became Citytv’s best original program among adults aged 25 to 54 and women aged 25 to 54, performing on par with other Citytv shows, including New Girl and Revenge.

While the season finale drew an audience of 842,500, the most-watched episode was the Oct. 3 premiere, which had 852,500 viewers.

Season two of The Bachelor Canada will premiere in 2014.
