OMD has a new managing director in the Toronto office, hiring John Killam to the role.

Killam comes to the agency from his most recent position as VP director of client services at MacLaren McCann, where he worked on accounts including Wendy’s, Sony and Wind Mobile.

Cathy Collier, CEO at OMD, says Killam’s experience with telcos through Wind Mobile played a large part in him landing the job. Killam has worked with Wind Mobile since before its official Canadian launch, having also worked with the brand during his time at Clean Sheet Communications when that agency helped launch the telco into the market.

Rogers and OMD recently turned Yonge-Dundas Square purple to get the attention of holiday shoppers passing by the busy intersection to promote the launch of streaming service Shomi.
