Mindshare has a new North American leader, having announced the promotion of Ernie Simon to president and CEO for the region.
He takes over from Colin Kinsella, who is leaving the company effective immediately. Kinsella had been in the role for just over two-and-a-half years.
Simon most recently worked as president of Mindshare’s parent company GroupM’s division, GroupM Consulting. He has spent more than 10 years at GroupM overall, seven of which have been at Mindshare, first as global strategic planner and then as chief strategy officer for North America.
Mindshare’s client roster expanded in 2015, adding Booking.com and retaining Unilever in North America. It also won General Mills in the U.S.
GroupM overall also reported promotions this morning, naming Adam Gerhart as its CEO for the U.S. and Cindy Gustafson as chief strategy officer for the U.S.
Gerhart most recently worked as west coast lead for Mindshare in the U.S. Gustafson was managing director of Mindshare’s North American Invention Studio, a new division she launched to develop new ideas that creatively weave brands into culture through media.
