Sears worked to keep its name ringing in the ears of Canadians over the holiday break with the largest radio airtime purchase in both Toronto and Montreal, according to the latest Media Monitors report for the week of Dec. 26 to Jan. 1
Rogers Wireless made a substantial jump from the #14 spot to #2 in Toronto and Chrysler-Jeep-Dodge came in third on the list, up from the previous week’s #38 spot.
New additions to the chart include: Porter Airlines (#5), Tasco Distributors (#6) and BMW (#7). Sleep Country Canada made a larger purchase than the previous week, taking the mattress retailer to the #8 spot, up from #16. Kodak near-doubled its radio purchase as it moved from the #18 spot to #10.
In Montreal, Rogers Wireless didn’t budge from the previous week’s #2 position and Nissan Canada made a considerably larger buy which resulted in its move from the #73 spot to #3.
Porter Airlines made an entrance at #6, as did Quebec Ford Dealers in the #8 position. Noteworthy moves include those from Dormez- vous (from #16 to #4), The Home Depot (#13 to #7) as well as Kodak (#14 to #9).
