Canadian programmers must be breathing a big sigh of relief because CBS has renewed 18 shows, including newcomers Person of Interest and 2 Broke Girls (pictured), helping to solve their scheduling puzzle ahead of the upcoming LA Screenings.
Yesterday’s renewed shows join How I Met Your Mother, which airs Monday nights at 8 p.m. on Citytv, and The Big Bang Theory, which is on Thursday nights at 8 p.m. on CTV, which were already picked up for the 2012/13 season.
Notable exemptions from yesterday’s list of renewed shows include Two and a Half Men, which airs Monday at 9 p.m. on CTV, and freshman shows A Gifted Man, which runs Friday at 9 p.m. on Global Television and Unforgettable which airs Tuesday at 10 p.m. on CTV.
CBS shows currently airing on CTV which got the green light for another season include the Melissa McCarthy-starring comedy Mike & Molly, airing on CTV Two Monday nights at 9:30 p.m.
FBI show Criminal Minds, airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m is also back, as is CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, airing Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. on CTV.
Crime drama The Mentalist, airing Thursday nights at 10 p.m. on CTV got the green light. As did the Tom Selleck-starring Blue Bloods, which airs Fridays at 10 p.m. on CTV.
Reality show Undercover Boss is also back on the network, and The Amazing Race is set for another trip around the globe, airing Sunday night at 8 p.m. on CTV.
Global Television’s shows which have been picked up for another season by CBS include Hawaii Five-0, which airs Monday night at 10 p.m., and NCIS, which is going into its 10th season, airing at 8 p.m. on Tuesdays. Its spinoff NCIS: LA also returns, airing after the original at 9 p.m.
The Good Wife also returns, airing Sunday nights at 10 p.m. on Global.

Newcomer comedy 2 Broke Girls is also picked up for a second season, airing Monday nights at 8:30 p.m. on Citytv.
60 Minutes also returns, marking the start of its 44th season. It airs on Channel Zero’s CHCH in Ontario.
