Lamar Advertising Company retains B.C. Transit

The Lamar Advertising Company has retained the account for B.C. Transit for an additional 10-year term. The new agreement started at the beginning of August, and covers the more than 50 million commuters that use the transit company’s fleet of 590 buses each year.

TBWA/Toronto and Juniper Park merge

TBWA\Toronto and Juniper Park have merged to create Juniper Park\TBWA, effective immediately.

Juniper Park president Jill Nykoliation has been named CEO of the combined agency, while Jay Bertram, TBWA\Canada’s president and head of the Toronto office, has resigned and will depart the agency at the end of September. The two agencies will combine their staff in the Juniper Park office space next month, which will continue to be run by Juniper’s general manager David Toto.

The Social‘s season two boost

Season three of CTV’s daily talk show The Social will  kick-off its third season at the start of next week. As of Aug. 31, the show will be broadcast not only in Canada, but in U.S. markets including San Francisco, Phoenix, San Antonio and Buffalo. The second season of The Social had a 42% boost over season one audience numbers, bringing in an average daily audience of 253,000 viewers, according to Numeris numbers from CTV.

Agency of the Year shortlist revealed

The list of agencies vying for top spot at this year’s Agency of the Year have been revealed. Happening Nov. 2 in Toronto, the awards will celebrate the best in media, agency, digital and PR. Here’s the media agencies that are in the running:
